When are the performances?

The 2014 Performances take place as follows:

  • Thursday, December 4 – 7:00 pm
  • Friday, December 5 – 7:00 pm
  • Saturday, December 6 – 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm
  • Sunday, December 7 – 3:00PM or 4:00 PM

The running time of each performance is less than two hours.

Can I order the DVD online and how will I receive my DVD?

You can order the 2013 performance online by clicking here. The 2013 DVD is available for sale immediately. You will receive your DVD copy of the show within two weeks of ordering.

 

Is this the same show as last year?

Each year the Virginia Christmas Spectacular is a different show. Details of the show will be posted online once available. This year VCS has two trees and 250,000 lights.

 

Where is the Virginia Christmas Spectacular held?

All performances take place in the 5,000 seat Worship Center at Thomas Road Baptist Church. It is located at One Mountain View Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502. Click here for directions.

 

Will Virginia Christmas Spectacular offer a Dinner Buffet?

No, the Thomas Road Virginia Christmas Spectacular will not be offering a Dinner before or after performances this year. Local Buffets include Hibachi Buffet and Golden Corral.

 

What price are the tickets?

Show Tickets are priced at $8, $12 or $15 depending on your seating choice.

 

Are seats reserved?

Yes. All seats are reserved according to your ticket purchase. Please bring your tickets for admission into the show. Show Tickets are priced at $8, $12 or $15 depending on your seating choice.

 

When do the doors open for a performance?

Doors will open one hour before each performance. Please allow plenty of time for travel and parking.

 

Will my online credit card transaction be secure?

Yes. Credit card transactions are processed with industry-standard security methods and credit card numbers are NOT stored in our system.

 

Are there refunds or exchanges for tickets?

No. We do not offer any refunds or exchanges. If you cannot use your tickets for some reason, we suggest that you share them to someone else who might enjoy the performance.

 

May I use “e-tickets” that I print myself for admission?

Yes. As soon as the transaction is complete, our system will confirm your purchase with an e-mail. If you choose e-tickets as your method of ticket delivery, those e-tickets will be attached to your confirmation e-mail as PDF files. To print the tickets on your home computer, you must open them using Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer, you may download it by clicking here.

 

Will I get an e-mail confirmation of my ticket purchase?

Yes. As soon as the transaction is complete, our system will confirm your purchase with an e-mail. If you chose e-tickets as your method of ticket delivery (only available for performance tickets), those e-tickets will be attached to your confirmation e-mail as PDF files. To print the confirmation on your home computer, you must open it using Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer, you may download it by clicking here.

 

Do I get a receipt for my online purchase?

Yes. Once your order is complete, you may print your confirmation page using the print function of your browser. Also, a detailed copy of your order receipt will be sent to the e-mail address that you provided when checking out. Please be sure to check your Junk Mail or Bulk Mail folders if you do not receive your receipt in your e-mail inbox.

 

Do you provide wheelchair seating?

Yes. There is limited wheelchair seating available. All of our wheelchair seating is located in the Main Floor and Terrace areas. Please note that accessibility to any seating area other than the Main Floor requires the use of stairs. The balcony is not recommended for those who have difficulty climbing stairs. To reserve wheelchair seating, call the Ticket Office at 888-244-2178 or e-mail tickets@trbc.org and a ticket agent will contact you within 48 hours.

 

Do I have to buy a ticket for my child?

Every person (including children) in attendance must have a purchased ticket.

 

Will you provide childcare?

No. Childcare will not be provided during the performances.

 

Do you provide translation for the hearing impaired?

If requested. Thomas Road’s Hearing Impaired Ministry will provide translation during the Thursday, Dec.5 performance at 7:00 p.m. Hearing Impaired tickets are to be purchased through the TRBC or the Main Street ticketing booth. You may also email your request to tickets@trbc.org

 

Our church loves to bring a large group to this event. How does that work?

We are delighted to welcome large groups and we can easily accommodate your needs. No discounts are provided for large groups, but purchasing tickets as soon as they are available will allow your group to sit together for the performance. For group sales, please call 888-244-2178 or e-mail tickets@trbc.org and we’ll be delighted to take care of your group.

 

Is there a discount for Senior Citizens, students etc.?

No.

 

Can I take pictures?

No. For the safety of our performers and the comfort of our other guest, we do not allow personal video equipment or cameras of any kind in the Worship Center. This performance is protected under copyright law and no videotaping or photography is permitted.

 

Do you have a list of hotel accommodations near Thomas Road Baptist Church?

There are several hotels directly beside or within a short distance from the church. For a list of hotels in the area and their contact information, we suggest visiting the Lynchburg Visitors’ Bureau by clicking here.

 

Do you use special effects?

Yes. Strobe lights, fog, loud noises and other special effects are used during the performance.

 

What are the Ticket Booth hours of operation?

The Virginia Christmas Spectacular Ticket Booth, located on Main Street inside Thomas Road Baptist Church, will be open weekdays from 9:30AM until 3:00PM and before and after Worship Services on Sunday morning.

Will bad weather affect the shows?

In the 40+ years of Virginia Christmas Spectacular’s history, we have never cancelled a performance due to weather. However, if the show were to be cancelled, cancellations would be posted on this website, ABC 13 (Lynchburg) and Victory FM (88.3) radio. If any show is cancelled, full refunds would be issued to all guests.
