When are the performances?
The 2015 Performances take place as follows:
Friday, December 4 – 7:00 pm
Saturday, December 5 – 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm
Sunday, December 6 – 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm
The running time of each performance is less than two hours.
Can I order the DVD online and how will I receive my DVD?
Is it the same show as last year?
Each year the Virginia Christmas Spectacular is a different show. Details of the show will be posted online once available. We do know this year VCS has one tree and hundreds of thousands of lights.
Where is the Virginia Christmas Spectacular held?
All performances take place in the 5,000 seat Worship Center at Thomas Road Baptist Church. It is located at One Mountain View Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502.Click here for directions
Is there a dinner buffet?
No, Thomas Road’s Virginia Christmas Spectacular will not be offering a Dinner before or after performances. Local Buffets include Hibachi Buffet and Golden Corral.
What are the prices of tickets?
Show tickets are prices are dependent on seating position and sold at $8, $12 or $15 . Clearly marked limited view seating is available for $5. Additionally, there is a $1 per ticket fee to cover all ticketing costs.
Are seats reserved?
Yes. All seats are reserved according to your ticket purchase. Please bring your tickets for admission into the show.
When do the doors open for a performance?
Doors will open at least 45 minutes before each performance. Please allow plenty of time for travel and parking.
Are there refunds or exchanges for tickets?
No. We do not offer any refunds or exchanges. If you cannot use your tickets for some reason, we suggest that you share them to someone else who might enjoy the performance.
May I use “e-tickets” that I print myself for admission?
Yes. As soon as the transaction is complete, our system will confirm your purchase with an e-mail. If you choose e-tickets as your method of ticket delivery, those e-tickets will be attached to your confirmation e-mail as PDF files. To print the tickets on your home computer, you must open them using Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer, you may download it by clicking here.
Will I get an e-mail confirmation of my ticket purchase?
Yes. As soon as the transaction is complete, our system will confirm your purchase with an e-mail. If you chose e-tickets as your method of ticket delivery (only available for performance tickets), those e-tickets will be attached to your confirmation e-mail as PDF files. To print the confirmation on your home computer, you must open it using Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer, you may download it by clicking here.
Do I get a receipt from my online purchase?
Yes. Once your order is complete, you may print your confirmation page using the print function of your browser. Also, a detailed copy of your order receipt will be sent to the e-mail address that you provided when checking out. Please be sure to check your Junk Mail or Bulk Mail folders if you do not receive your receipt in your e-mail inbox.
Do you provide wheelchair seating & is the even accessible?
Yes. There is limited wheelchair seating available. All of our wheelchair seating is located on the Main Floor. Please note that accessibility to any seating in the balcony requires the use of 30+ stairs, also the balcony has no elevator access. To reserve wheelchair seating, call the Ticket Office at 888-244-2178 or If requested. Thomas Road’s Hearing Impaired Ministry will provide translation during the Saturday, Dec. 5 performance at 2:00 p.m. Hearing Impaired tickets are to be purchased through the TRBC ticketing office. You may also contact us directly and a ticket agent will contact you within 48 hours.
Are there a discount for Senior Citizens, students etc.?
No. Tickets are offered at the lowest price possible.
Do you provide translation for the hearing impaired?
If requested. Thomas Road’s Hearing Impaired Ministry will provide translation during the Saturday, Dec. 5 performance at 2:00 p.m. Hearing Impaired tickets are to be purchased through the TRBC ticketing office. You may also contact us directly.
Our church loves to bring a large group to this event. How does that work?
We are delighted to welcome large groups and we can easily accommodate your needs. No discounts are provided for large groups, but purchasing tickets as soon as they are available will allow your group to sit together for the performance. For group sales, please call 888-244-2178 or contact us and we’ll be delighted to take care of your group.
Will you provide childcare?
No. Childcare will not be provided during the performances.
Do I have to buy a ticket for my child?
Every person (including children) in attendance must have a purchased ticket.
Can I take pictures?
No. This performance is protected under copyright law and no videotaping or photography is permitted. Also, for the safety of our performers and the comfort of our other guest, we do not allow personal video equipment or cameras of any kind in the Worship Center.
Do you have a list of hotel accommodations near Thomas Road Baptist Church?

Do you use special effects?
Yes. Strobe lights, fog, loud noises and other special effects are used during the performance.
What are the Ticket Booth hours of operation?
The Virginia Christmas Spectacular Ticket Booth, located on Main Street, will be open immediately after the Worship Services on Sunday morning. You may also call 888-244-2178 or contact us and a ticketing agent will contact you within 48 hours.
Will bad weather affect the shows?
In the 40+ years of Virginia Christmas Spectacular’s history, we have never cancelled a performance due to weather. However, if the show were to be cancelled, cancellations would be posted on this website, WSET – ABC 13 (Lynchburg) and The Journey FM (88.3 FM) radio. If any show is cancelled, full refunds would be issued to all guests.
